How it works on the POS App

Product Restriction Settings Setup

The Product Restriction Settings can be enabled via this link HERE. Here you would be able to enable this feature by tapping on 'Enable Product restriction'. If you are looking to allow the staff members to be able to override the restriction on the POS app, this can be enabled by selecting the 'Allow override' option. Once the relevant options have been selected, you can tap on 'Save Settings' to save the settings and proceed to the next step.

Add Restricted Groups and Products

This section can be accessed by following the link HERE. It can also be accessed by tapping on Overview (top right corner) via the Product Restriction Settings page.

Adding Groups

These can be added by tapping on the 'Add New Group' button at the bottom of the page. Restriction Groups will define the type of restriction being created by adding a Group Name, Group Description and Quantity Limit. Multiple groups can be added for different types of quantity limits.

Adding Products to Groups

Once the Restriction Group has been added, you will be prompted to Add Products to the group. To add the products to the groups, you would require the Unique Product ID linked with each of the products to be added to the text field shown on the prompt.

The Unique Product IDs can be located in the CSV Export of your products which can be obtained via the POS Backoffice > Products > Product List > Scroll to the End > Export CSV. This will export the spreadsheet file which will have all the Unique Product IDs for each of the products within Column A (product_id column). IDs for products you would like to be included in the can be copied into the Add Products section and tap on 'Confirm' to submit the request.

Please ensure each Unique Product ID is added as a separate line.

Once the above step has been completed, you will see the below screen with all the products which have been added to the restricted group. You can continue to add new products by tapping on 'Add Product' or remove products from the group by tapping on the bin icon next to each product.

How it works on the POS App

Once the product restrictions have been selected, groups have been created and products have been added to the group the pop-ups for the restrictions will appear automatically if the restricted products exceed the limit set on the restriction. Based on the override setting selected in the backoffice, one of the below screens will be shown to the staff when they come across the restricted products.

With Override Off:                                              With Override On:

If the override option is off, the staff can tap on 'OK' to continue and this will not add the products to the order. If the override option is on, then the staff will be presented with the option to tap on 'No' which can be tapped to continue and not add the item to the order or the option to select 'Yes' to allow them to add the product to the order, overriding the restriction.
