Printer Troubleshooting

Printer not printing?

Please check that all necessary cables are securely plugged in and are in working order.

If yours is a Bluetooth printer, please check that the printer is successfully connected via Bluetooth to the iPad. Navigate to the iPad home screen, select the the settings icon and select the Bluetooth section on the left hand-side. Make sure ‘Bluetooth’ is enabled by toggling the switch at the top. Within ‘MY DEVICES’ make sure the printer, labelled ‘Star Micronics’ or TSP100 is connected. For more information see the ‘How to connect to a Bluetooth printer’ section above.

Red error light at the front of the printer is flashing quickly?

This means that there is no paper in the printer. A new roll of paper must be placed into the printer for it to operate. If you wish to order a new box of till rolls, please email our support team support@thegoodtill.com

After replacing the till roll in the printer, if it still shows a red light, please turn the printer OFF and back ON. Please ensure that you have put the till roll in the correct way with the paper coming up from the bottom.

Red error light at the front of the printer is flashing slowly?

This simply means that the printer is close to running out of paper. We advise that a new roll of paper be placed into the printer in order for it to operate properly. Please ensure that you have put the paper roll in the correct way with the paper coming up from the bottom.

Faint looking red line appears on my receipts, what does this mean?

If this line appears on your receipts, it is again another indication that the printer is close to running out of paper. Please insert a new till roll into the printer for it to operate properly.

Blue flashing light at front of the printer?

A blue flashing light at the front of the printer indicates that the printer is attempting to communicate with the router it is connected to. If the printer can’t find an network connection it will flash constantly until it connects. If yours is a LAN printer, you can try plugging the Ethernet cable into a different port or restarting your router.
